This day will be dedicated to the guided visit of the Italian capital. Rome is a lively city. Its lifestyle, the well-known “Dolce Vita”, its Mediterranean temperament and its culinary specialities are only some of the treasures which this city invites you to discover. We start with a discovery of Baroque Rome: the Trevi Fountain where you can make a wish by throwing a little coin into the water, Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna, the Pantheon and Piazza Venezia (from the outside). After lunch, experience a guided visit of Christian Rome: You will discover the Vatican Museums (with obligatory headphones) and their treasures, in particular the Sistine Chapel with its magnificent roof frescoes, masterpiece of Michelangelo. The visit will continue with St. Peter’s Square and its basilica, center of Christianity and rich in artworks, such as the Pieta by Michelangelo. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Morning, guided visit of Ancient Rome: the Palatine, without doubt the most famous of the seven hills of Rome, thanks to the legend of the twin brothers Romulus and Remus, the Roman Forum and the Arch of Constantine. Then, visit of the Coliseum, worldwide known symbol of Rome. You will discover this building with its extraordinary dimensions. Lunch on your own. Leisure time for a personal discovery and to stroll through the neighbourhoods of the Quirinal. This hill is dominated by the Quirinal Palace, Italy’s presidential palace. This is one of the most beautiful neighbourhoods of Rome. One of the most touristic places in this area is Piazza di Spagna, with its famous Spanish staircase which leads up to the church Trinita dei Monti, financed by the French King Louis XII. Continuation towards Naples. Dinner and overnight in Naples.

Departure for Pompei. The morning will be dedicated to the guided visit of the excavations of this sumptuous city buried in AD 79. An eruption of the Vesuvius covered the city with a layer of volcanic ashes seven metres thick, in two days. The scale and the variety of the ruins give a quite precise idea of what could have been a rich Roman imperial city: forum, temples, theatre, thermal baths, whorehouse. In the afternoon, continuation towards the Vesuvius and discovery of the craters with a hiking guide. At the end of the visit, tasting of a glass of wine. In the morning, guided visit of Naples, city of scenic beauties and cultural treasures, in a splendid light and against the background of the deep blue sea. It is one of the most beautiful cities of the Mediterranean. In its centre, you can find countless heritage treasures next to more humble town houses with garements hanging in the windows to dry. The morning will be dedicated to the guided visit of the city with Piazza Plebiscito, Via Caracciolo, see the Spaccanapoli (one of the most famous streets of Naples) and Ovo Castle, one of the most beautiful castles of Italy. In the afternoon, leisure time to stroll through the Neapolitan streets which always offer some entertainment. In the evening, return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Naples. Optional: Neapolitan evening with culinary specialties of the region, drinks, music and a Pulcinella – typical character of the Neapolitan theatre.

The day will be dedicated to a guided excursion to the island of Capri, a little island 6 km long and 3 km wide. Guided visit of the island by local minibuses. You will discover the “Mermaid Island”, as Capri is called in the Greek mythology. It emerges from a deep sea, is very mountainous, with cliffs marked by caves and creeks and surrounded by rocks with fantastic forms. The island is renowned, amongst others, for the variety of its setting and the richness of its constructions. Capri is a real jewel of white rock, covered by vines and pines, surrounded by the intense blue of the Mediterranean. Lunch during the visit. In the evening, return to the hotel.
