Program

Day 1: Arrival in Venice (-/-/D)

Arrival at the airport of Venice. Welcome by your tour escort and coach transfer to your hotel. Remainder of the day is free. Dinner and overnight in the region of Venice / Mestre.

Day 2: Venice (B/-/D)

The day will be dedicated to the discovery of Venice, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage. Built on 118 little islands, Venice is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece. Our guided visit of Venice includes the discovery of St. Marc’s Square and its basilica (from the outside). After this, we visit the Doges’ Palace and its sumptuous apartments, decorated by the greatest Italian artists. Lunch at your own. Free afternoon. Dinner and overnight in the region of Venice/Mestre.

Day 3: Islands of the Venice lagoon – region of Florence / Siena (B/L/D)

Departure by boat from Punta Sabbioni for an excursion to the islands of the Venice lagoon. You will discover Murano, the island of glass since the end of the 13th century. Then, experience Burano, known for its canals lined with colourful houses and its remarkably fine needle laces. Lunch in a typical restaurant on the island of Burano. In the afternoon, return by boat to Punta Sabbioni. Onward journey towards Florence. Dinner and overnight in Florence.

Day 4: Florence (B/-/D)

Florence offers a unique panorama. Symbolizing the Italian Renaissance, it is without a doubt the city where the Italian genius is most obvious. Our guided visit of the city inlcudes the most important sights: Piazza del Duomo, Piazza della Signoria, Palazzo Vecchio and medieval Ponte Vecchio, which crosses the river Arno. After lunch, you will visit the Uffizi Gallery (Galleria degli Uffizi). Afterwards some time for leisure. Dinner and overnight in Florence.

Day 5: Florence – Siena – Rome (B/-/D)

Departure for Siena, located in the heart of Tuscany. Guided visit of the city, built on three hills of reddish clay, colour called “earth of Siena”. The city is known for its scallop-shaped central square, on which every year the palio (one of the hardest horse races in the world) takes place. Visit of the cathedral, walk across magic Piazza del Campo, where the heart of the city beats, and continuation through the gothic streets lined by palaces, passing by Patrician houses and Palazzo Pubblico. After lunch on your own, departure for Rome, the capital of Italy. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 6: Rome (B/-/D)

This day will be dedicated to the guided visit of the Italian capital and will start with a discovery of Baroque Rome: the Trevi Fountain (Fontana di Trevi), Piazza Navona, Piazza di Spagna, the Pantheon and Piazza Venezia (from the outside). After lunch (not included), guided visit of Christian Rome: You will discover the Vatican Museums (with obligatory headphones) and their treasures, in particular the Sistine Chapel with its magnificent roof frescoes, masterpiece of Michelangelo. The visit will continue with St. Peter’s Square (Piazza San Pietro) and its basilica, center of Christianity and rich in artworks, such as the Pieta by Michelangelo. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 7: Rome (B/-/D)

Guided visit of Ancient Rome: the Palatine, the most famous of the seven hills of Rome, thanks to the legend of the twin brothers Romulus and Remus, the Roman Forum and the Arch of Constantine. Our tour ends with a visit of the Coliseum. Afternoon for leisure. Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Day 8: Departure from Rome (B/-/-)

Transfer to the airport of Rome.
